Dr. Judy Downs

Dr. Downs purchased Little River Veterinary Clinic in 1997. She is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. She has been in active clinical practice for over 19 years, specializing in cats and dogs. In her spare time from the clinic, Dr. Downs is the mother of two children. She has a house full of pets, including two dogs, a cat, and a bird.

Dr. Jaclyn Erwin

Dr. Jaclyn Erwin earned her undergraduate degree in Biology from Scripps College in Claremont, CA and received her doctorate of veterinary medicine in 2010 from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.

She practiced in California for over three years and recently relocated to Northern Virginia with her husband, two dogs, and rambunctious cat. Dr. Erwin was raised in San Jose, California with many animals from dogs to llamas.

She enjoys running, hiking, and discovering all the Washington DC area has to offer.

Dr. Katie Proia

Dr. Katie Proia graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Illinois in May 2014, and received her Bachelor's degree at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, FL.

Originally from the south Florida area, Dr. Proia moved to Fairfax with her husband and Duncan (their furry chow chow mix) right after graduation, and is thrilled to be living in Northern Virginia!

She is especially interested in small animal internal medicine and abdominal ultrasound, as well as the role veterinary medicine plays in public health. Most of all, Dr. Proia enjoys the bonds formed with both her patients and their pet parents!

In her spare time, Dr. Proia enjoys reading, spending time with friends and family, and exploring all that the D.C. area has to offer!
