Traveling with Your Pet
Our doctors carry National Accreditation to issue International and Domestic Health Certificates for your companion pets. There are specific steps you’ll need to follow prior to scheduling your appointment:
- Please visit www.aphis.usda.gov to research specific requirements of the country or area you plan on visiting.
- Contact the Consulate of the country you plan on visiting to confirm these requirements.
- Contact the airline to determine any additional terms of travel they may require.
You will need to bring all documentation to our office for review prior to your scheduled appointment with our doctors. If your pet is new to our practice, we will need copies of all vaccinations and medical history from your current Veterinarian as well.
Please note that each foreign country has specific requirements including vaccinations, and the number of days prior to travel when they can be administered. To ensure that you are in compliance and can complete your International or Domestic Health Certificate in time for your scheduled departure, we urge you to call our office to start this process well before your travel date.
For more information or to schedule your initial appointment, please call 703-273-5110.
